The Breaking Point

It started in the shower. A few extra strands. Then clumps. Then handfuls.
My hair was falling out, and nothing I tried worked.
I spent hundreds on products that promised miracles:
❌ Biotin supplements — broke out in cystic acne
❌ Hair vitamins — expensive urine (nothing changed)
❌ Castor oil — too thick, clogged my follicles, made it worse
❌ Salon treatments — €200 per session, zero results
❌ Minoxidil — the growth was fine, peach-fuzz hair. The shedding when I stopped? Terrifying.
I was desperate. And I was broke from trying everything.
"I remember crying in the drugstore aisle, reading labels I couldn't pronounce, wondering why 'natural' products had 50 ingredients."

The Discovery That Changed Everything

At 2 AM one night, I fell down an internet rabbit hole. Scientific studies. Not blogs. Not influencer posts. Actual research.
I discovered:
🔬 A 2015 study in Skinmed Journal: Rosemary oil increased hair growth as much as minoxidil. No side effects.
🌿 Moroccan women for centuries: Argan oil for hair that grows past their waists.
⚠️ The problem: Most "argan oil" is 20% argan, 80% silicone. No wonder it didn't work.
I became obsessed. I ordered raw ingredients from a trusted Dutch supplier. I mixed. I tested. I failed. A lot.
  • Too much rosemary = scalp burn
  • Wrong ratios = greasy, heavy
  • No carrier oil = essential oils too strong
But slowly, I found the balance.

6 Months Later: The Mirror Moment

I didn't take photos at first. I couldn't bear to document my failure if it didn't work.
But at month 4, I noticed baby hairs. Not breakage—growth. Along my hairline. At my crown. Where I'd given up.
By month 6, my ponytail was back. Thick. Healthy. Mine.
Friends started asking. Then friends of friends. I was making batches in my kitchen, selling them for cost.
Then a woman I'd never met emailed: "I have alopecia. Nothing has worked. Can you help me?"
I sent her my oil. She used it. She wrote back 3 months later with photos. Fuzzy regrowth where there had been smooth scalp.
I cried for an hour.

Finding the Right Partners

I knew I needed to scale. And I knew I couldn't compromise on quality.

From Kitchen to Company

I registered Pure Béni Oil in the Netherlands. "Béni" means "blessed" in French. Because that's how I felt—blessed to find a solution, blessed to help others, blessed to work with ethical partners.
I invested €3,000:
  • First bulk order from Oliemeesters (verified, tested, fair trade)
  • Professional bottles and labels
  • Basic website
  • Registration and certifications
I had built a community online from sharing my journey. I announced the launch. Sold out in 48 hours.
Then I messed up. A lot:
📦 Shipped to wrong addresses
📦 Bottles leaked (wrong caps)
📦 Ran out of stock (underestimated demand)
📦 Website crashed (too much traffic)
But I fixed it. I learned. I grew.
